Available Classes

STAR Puppy Class

Give your puppy the best start with this fun and informative 6-week class designed to build confidence, good manners, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

In this class, you and your puppy will work on essential skills such as loose-leash walking, sit, down, stay, leave it, and an introduction to recall. We’ll also focus on socialization and helping your puppy feel comfortable around new people, environments, and experiences.

We understand that raising a puppy comes with challenges, so we’ll guide you through common concerns like biting, jumping, chewing, potty training, and getting through the “witching hour.” Each week also includes helpful discussions on topics such as crate training and veterinary care, giving you the tools you need for success at home.

This class is open to puppies under 6 months of age at the start of class (or under 20 pounds for older small-breed puppies). Puppies must be up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations.

At the final session, puppies have the opportunity to take the AKC STAR Puppy test and earn an official title through the American Kennel Club.

Next class: See Master list above.

$200 / 6 weeks, including STAR Puppy test
*Must attend all 6 classes to get the STAR puppy title

Level One (Beginner) Obedience

Basic obedience is the cornerstone of good behavior in dogs. This beginner friendly class is designed for dogs with little or no formal training and is the perfect next step after puppy class or a great starting point for dogs of any age! In Basic Obedience, you and your dog will learn to work together as a team while building clear communication, focus and manners. Throughout the course handlers will learn how to effectively teach foundational obedience skills, including polite heeling on leash, sit, down, place, stay and coming when called (recall). Class best suited for puppies over the age of 8 months at the start of class.

Next class: See Master list above.

$200 for 6 weeks

Canine Good Citizen (Manners) Class

The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program, developed by the American Kennel Club, is designed to help dogs develop reliable manners and the skills needed to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.

In this class, you and your dog will work together to master ten essential skills that build confidence and promote good behavior both at home and in public. Training focuses on practical, everyday manners such as not jumping on strangers, walking politely on a leash, coming when called, and remaining calm around other dogs.

Beyond basic obedience, the CGC program helps create lasting trust and clear communication between you and your dog. It also encourages responsible pet ownership, ensuring you and your dog are considerate members of your community.

For those interested in advancing their training, CGC provides a strong foundation for other AKC activities, including agility and therapy dog work.

Give your dog the skills to be attentive, well-mannered, and confident—enroll in the Canine Good Citizen class today.

This is a class that EVERY single dog should take and a test that every dog should be able to pass. This class is the next step after beginner obedience and required for therapy dog class.

Next class: See Master list above.

$200 including Test |  6 weeks

Therapy Dog Classes (ROCDOG)

Have you ever wanted your dog to become an official therapy dog? Thanks to the wonderful ROCDOG organization and training classes at Moltuc, you can now become a certified therapy dog team. Come  join our Therapy Dog Class, an enriching program designed for dogs and handlers ready to make a positive impact in the community. In partnership with RocDog, this class prepares dog-handler teams to become  a Certified Therapy Dog Team.

Throughout this course, you’ll learn the skills and protocols necessary for successful therapy visits to locations such as nursing homes, schools, hospitals, libraries, and more. Emphasis is placed on obedience, socialization, desensitization to various environments, and proper handler etiquette during visits.

“Today, we proudly identify as providers of “Community Working Dogs,” a term that encapsulates the broad spectrum of our services. These remarkable dogs are dedicated to supporting everyone in our community. Whether they are Emotional Support Dogs, Therapy Dogs, or Service Dogs, each one is trained to bring comfort, assistance, and joy to those in need.” - ROCDOG

Next class: See Master list above.

These classes are 7 weeks long and $250 including a test the final week that your dog must pass to become a certified therapy dog.

*Dogs must have passed the canine good citizen test (can be from another trainer) to take this class!

Outdoor Obedience

This is a seasonal class that is wonderful for strengthening your training!

Dogs have to work around real world distractions; vehicles, deer, other dogs, birds, squirrels - all the things that easily distract our dogs and make proofing that obedience that much more challenging!

These classes are never the same, we are always trying and training new things and adding distance and duration to existing skills.

Dogs must have completed a canine good citizen level class to attend these sessions.

These classes are also $200 for 6 weeks.

Next class: CHECK BACK FOR SUMMER CLASSES

Rally Obedience

Rally obedience is a super fun twist on regular obedience. In rally, a course is set using different signs/stations that you walk through with your dog. Unlike typical competition obedience, in rally obedience competitions, you are able to talk and praise your dog as you work through the entire course, making it a fantastic beginner friendly way to start competing. By far my favorite class! Every week is a new course and we work on new skills.

Classes are 6 weeks and $200 and run in 6 week sessions throughout the year, typically with a 1-2 week break between.

Next class: See Master list above.

Dogs must have completed at least a level one obedience class to join rally as it IS a more advanced obedience class. As you and your dog perfect each level of rally you will be moved up to a more advanced class (if interested and spots are available).

Virtual testing every other month where you can compete (at the training center) for official AKC titles in rally obedience.

Fun Agility

This is a super fun class that really enhances the bond and connection you have with your dog - all while having fun!
This is a more active class so keep that in mind, you’ll need to be running with your dog. You must wear safe, closed toed shoes to this class (as you should always when training your dog). This class is really good for dogs that are a bit nervous as you work through various courses as a team.

Dogs must have completed at least a level one obedience class and MUST have a recall - dogs can also NOT be dog reactive in this class, unless you are willing to car crate between rounds.

Next session: See Master list

Cost $250.

AKC Competition Obedience

This class is for handlers looking to compete in AKC obedience (also handy for rally obedience students) or just looking for that next level of engagement and focused obedience. Taught by Leanne Capozzi, owner of 3 OTCH (obedience championship) corgis and owner of the #1 Pembroke Welsh Corgi In lifetime OTCH points.
