Owner, Founder & Trainer

Bethany Allsop Shave

I’m Bethany, and dogs have been my passion and purpose for as long as I can remember. Raised in a family that bred and showed AKC Rough Collies, my love for dogs and training started in childhood — and I’ve spent my life learning, competing, and teaching.

Today, I actively train and compete with my own dogs — including Australian Cattle Dogs, a French Bulldog, Irish Wolfhounds, and a Beagle — in a wide range of dog sports, including conformation, obedience, rally, agility, scent work, herding, hunting and more. Whether you want a well-mannered family pet or a competition-ready partner, I bring decades of hands-on experience to help you and your dog succeed.

As a new mom the importance of having a well behaved dog in the house is more important than ever. Im passionate about the safety of new babies with your current dogs and truly believe a well behaved dog is crucial for the success of a new family. I happily offer specialized training for expecting parents to help ease the transition into bringing a new baby home to your pups. The safety of a new baby is of the utmost importance and making sure your dog is set up to succeed through this transition is a special skill that Im well equipped for and happy to help you with.

At my home base of Black Dog Farm, I offer a variety of group classes and private training for all ages and skill levels, from puppy foundations to advanced performance training. My approach is balanced, fun, practical, and focused on strengthening the bond between you and your dog. No two classes are ever the same, and my goal is always to make training fun, engaging, and rewarding for both ends of the leash.

I’m proud to partner with the Town of Walworth Recreation Department to offer community training classes and also teach at Future K9 Care in Walworth.

As a responsible breeder of AKC Irish Wolfhounds, I also offer guidance for families looking to find the right breed for their lifestyle and connect them with ethical breeders — including both purebred and purpose-bred dogs (and yes, even doodles!). I’m a firm believer that every dog and every owner deserves the right tools, support, and education to build a happy life together.

When you train with me, you’re not just joining a class — you’re becoming part of a supportive community of dog lovers who want to see each other succeed. Whether you’re raising a new puppy, tackling behavioral challenges, or dreaming of stepping into the show ring, I’m here to help you every step of the way.

Let’s work together to help your dog become the best version of themselves.

Thank you for supporting my small, local, woman-owned business!

My company is named in honor of my late German Shepherds; Molson & Tucker.

I miss you both everyday and I hope you can see the legacy you’ve created.

Rest in peace boys, I’ll see you again someday.

Molson, I waited my entire life for you. My heart dog, the perfect boy. You were everything bubba.

Tucker, the rescue puppy from when I worked in vet medicine that taught me more about training dogs than any dog before or after..naughty until the end!
